The short answer - stopping power. The stock Rawrr Mantis brakes certainly will stop you. However, these bikes are much heavier than your typical mountain bike and yet the stock brakes are practically the same as a mountain bike brake. Even the newer models have not really upgraded the braking system.
If you compare the 805emoto.com moto brake kit to the stock brake pads, they are night and day:
As you can see in this picture, the moto brake pads probably have at least 300% more pad area. And on top of that, the thickness of the pads are substantial. Our 805emoto.com brake pads will last a long time while many customers report stock brake pads needing replacement practically every week or two.
The reason is, most riders now days enjoy the Rawrr Mantis bike wheelie capabilities and when you are doing a wheelie, you are always dragging and feathering the rear brakes. That causes significant ware on the brake pads.
